Goede dag bloggers, in lockdown we have been working on a Olympic DLO (Digital Learning Object) I did mine on Sjinkie Knegt he is a Dutch athlete. He did short track skating and won a bronze medal. I chose him because I thought he was cool and I thought that short track was cool because the athletes go fast. Hope you enjoy.

Guten tag bloggers, I hope you had an amazing holiday because I'm going to be talking about the Olympics and showing you some of my work. A bit of last term and this term we have been looking at the Olympics and its history. The Olympics started in ancient greece at olympia and if you won you got a crown but you had to speak greek to enter and it was only men that could compete. At first it was one day then two then three then four then five days and there were more and more sports like wrestling, javelin throwing, discus, running in amour and boxing. but it stopped in 393 A.D. until 1896 which is 1,500 years apart.
As work we had to name all the sports by their logos. There was a key telling us what sports were on the slide but not which one it was. It was a bit hard but I managed to do it Have a look.
Guten tag bloggers, during the past week we have been writing a procedure text on how to play a game I chose chess. We had to write a plan first giving the title, what things you need and the goal of the game. You also had to write
step by step instructions explaining how to play the game and a diagram about the game you chose.
After you have finished your plan you have to write it in a document but more detailed way like you have to be specific. If someone read it but they didn't know how to play then well it would be a disaster and they wouldn't be able to play it. When you finished you had to insert the diagram to the doc but first it had to be checked by a teacher before you could finish.
The planing was easy for me because I had to just write what you need and how to play in steps and what you need to play. But the doc was hard because I didn't know how to make my doc more detailed. But eventually I made it more detailed with some help from jeremiah my friend. blog you later, check out jeremiah's blog.
Pi
Hello bloggers, we learnt about pi a long time ago and it was really interesting and cool. We learnt how to calculate the circumference of a circle which if you have read the first paragraph you will know. First we had to make our own circle of a diameter of 5 centimeters. Then we had to measure an already made circle on our court I measured half the circle and then timesed it by 2. Then I did the maths to figure out the circumference. That was all.
pi what is it you ask it is what all circles equal even if it's diameter is 5 centimeters to 10 meters. Pi can calculate the circumference by Multiplying the diameter by π, or 3.14. There is a much more difficult way of measuring the surface area of a sphere. Pi was originally made by a greek person Pi has also been calculated to have more than 22 trillion digits that is a lot. If you divide the circumference by the diameter you get pi.
Spark Arena
Guten Tag bloggers on Monday/17.5.21 we went to Spark Arena for a visit. All the year sixes went except one or to who didn't have permission or were to late. We had thirty minutes at each activity we went to Happy Place first. Our first thing we could do in Happy Place was a ball pit that you jumped into and was almost as deep as me. We went in along line and we went in four people at a time. When it was my turn to jump in I leaped and landed in the ball pit I didn't even go through. I just landed on my knees but it was really hard to move. When I managed to get out we got to go into different photo rooms. One had white chains everywhere and another one was bathtub full of balls and every wall was filled with rubber duckys. Then we entered a room there was a dome that had fans on the ground and a bunch of confetti and we got to throw it around and at each other. Then that was the end of Happy Place
Chapter two: Sounds Fun when we went to different activities. One of them were you got a mouthpiece and a trombone or a trumpet. I got a trombone and I was pretty good if I do say so myself. Then I went to another section and there was this electric drum, pad and keyboard and there was this game loaded on to it. The game was about using instruments and you had to hit a note when a yellow line hit a box would turn green if you got it perfect, purple for to early, yellow for to late and red if you missed. Then I went to another section were it was about using computers to make music and there was a microphone an electric pad and keyboard I tried using those but people were hogging it.
Chapter three: After the Sounds Fun we went to a Van Gogh expedition were it showed his art. When we first entered there were some paintings but then we were led to another room and when we entered it went dark and we sat down in front of a big screen and it showed all of Van Gogh's art and that took thirty minutes. Fun fact: Van Gogh never sold one of his paintings in his life.
TRAINING DAIRY
Hello bloggers last Monday we got a training dairy from the Vodafone Warriors. It had a graph that shows different games that you have played. Another page was a writing page, were you had to write a comment to someone you now and then actually say that comment to them. Every day we have to write one comment. There was also a fitness page were there was exercises like 1 minute planking, 5 minute run 1 minute shuttle run, burpees for one minute.
So if your were me it was hard because of my asthma. After some time we also had to write how long we slept. I like the training dairy except for the five minute run but we made our own fitness plan and to be honest it is harder. Blog you latter.
Sports focus group
Hello, today me, Abdullah, Ros-Alan, Frank, Arial, Erana, Koleka, Valerie, Daiki, Brax, and a few others were lucky enough to be in a sports focus group. For this activity we went to the staff room and met up with people from Sports Auckland. We were given seven sticky notes and a pen. we were told that there was no right and wrong answer. They asked us some questions about what we liked about what we do for PE. We write the answers down on the sticky notes. After they finished asking questions we voted on what we like but our heads were down.
Picasso self portrait
We made Picasso self portrait for our work. You are most likely wondering what is so special about Picasso, well to use his proper name Pablo Picasso. Pablo Picasso was no ordinary artist, he would make them look weird by changing the shape of them. He would also use a range of colours for his painting. If you saw the paintings he created , you would would say wow. He is a famous artist. Here is mine.
TSUNAMI WARNING!
Hello, last week there was a tsunami warning. Luckily I was in Auckland and in Auckland it was safe but my mum got the warning for some reason. I worried about it alot but my mum told me we were safe. No thanks to my bigger brothers that would scare me, by saying things like there was going to be a big tsunami. Even after about three days I was scared because no one told me it had passed.
When some one told me that the tsunami had passed I was relieved because for the past three days I was worrying. I still worried about a earthquake coming and collapsing my house luckily that hasn't happened, yet.
In class we brainstormed what you might need in an emergency pack
Phone to call for help, charger/battery pack, water, food(non-perishable), first aid kit, entertainment/ cards, book, travel board games, torch, blankets, sunscreen, radio to listen for emergency broadcasts, toilet paper, insect repellent, umbrela.
Lockdown 4
Hello blogger, Last week we had a full week lockdown due to covid-19. While we were in lock down it was scary because of the tsunami warning. Other then the tsunami warning lockdown was pretty fun. My favorite subject was maths because it was sort of challenging, I also liked it because I just like maths better then all subjects.
My favorite family activity was playing Junta ( the j sounds like a h), poker and wings of glory. They were my favorite because I got to spend time with my family. I feel happy to be back at school because I get to talk to my friends. Also I am happy to be back at school because there is less things to distract me from my work. Blog you later.
Mindfulness
Hello bloggers, this week we had a mindfulness session. It was calming and fun, what we did first was we had to get into a circle and hold hands. Once we were in a circle our mindfulness teacher put a hula hoop one her arm. The goal was to get the hula hoop to the end of the circle, the only way to do that was to go through the hula hoop. After we did that we went back to our mat. Then did some stretches like down dog, cobra, table pose, child pose and butterfly pose.
When that was finished we buddied up, the person I buddy up with Nicholas. We had to sit opposite each other. Then we put our feet together and we balanced. After that we put our backs together and said what we felt. then we went back to our mats. Then we had to lie down after lying down for a bit the session ended. Blog you later.

Bike Skills
Have you ever rode a bike before? I had never ridden a bike until Tuesday because that was the day I learnt to ride a bike. Yes yes I know you are wondering "You didn't know how to ride a bike!" It was really fun except for when I fell over the first time on the concrete. After that fall my teacher helped me to learn how to ride a bike on the grass, so if I fall over it won't hurt me.
After some time I learnt to push myself off. After practising pushing off I could stay on my bike for a while, but I fell off some times. One time I ran into a pole. When it was near the end I joined my group again and we did some practises. At the end both the groups joined each other and we played a game. That was the end of that sesion and that was also the last one. It was fun, blog you later.
The production
Hello blogger, I'm back again and last week we did the production, you probably don't know what it is. Well then I will tell you, the production is a show we put on every two years, every student has a part to play. Whether it is the dance or a character in the show, I was a character in the play. If you are wondering what I was I was a camel, an annoying camel to be exact. The show was called Jasmine and Aladdin instead of Aladdin which is a movie.
There are many characters like Aladdin, Jasmen, Camels x2 ( but I had to do it myself because the other camel didn't show up to any of the shows), Apple peddler, Silk peddler, Rug peddler, Inscens peddler/ perfume seller and many more. We did four of the same show. I always was nervous at the beginning and at the middle, but at the end I always felt relieved at the end. It was at Waikowhai Intermediate School so we had to walk there on Friday because it was during the day. The shows were on Wednesday X2, Thursday and Friday. See you later.
Wonder Project: Final Flight
Hi everybody I'm back, we participated in the Wonder Project. The Wonder Project is where you build a rocket, testflight your rocket, improve your rocket and then you do the final flight. The final flight is when you do the last flight, hence the name final flight. We did all those things and got up to the final flight. There were four jobs; chief scientist, chief engineer, chief safety officer and team captain. I was chief engineer. Our team name was Super Thinkers. Our rocket name was the S.T.Shark rocket or S.T.S.R for short. When it was our turn we filled our rocket with 250ml of water and our air pressure was 60 psi. We launched the rocket at 45 degrees, it travelled 26.09 meters. When our rocket blasted off all our fins broke off the rocket.
Hello bloggers. This week we had our first basketball sesion our coaches were Mikey and Ronan. Before we started basketball we played line tag which was fun. After we played line tag we did some dribbling tricks it was hard sometimes and sometimes easy.
After we got into pairs and did some passing it was fun and hard a lot of times I couldn't catch it because you had to use one hand to catch. Then we used our skills in a game sort of we played and we got five numbers for five skills. After that we played a real game. Were you had to protect the ball from someone.
